It's simple. I had an idea. I booked flights to New York and two nights in a hostel. The hostel happened to be in BedStuy (where Biggie Smalls grew up, though I didn't know this at the time).

I got on Craigslist when I landed and set about looking for a room to rent for a month. I was incredibly blessed to find a small room in Williamsburg, Brooklyn with a Welsh girl (Lily) and her partner New Yorker, Siddique.

I didn't know anyone really except a guy I met at Fight Club in London, a few months earlier (VonJeff) and a guy from Dat Sound Consultantcy and radio promo (Matt Hart), who I met at my radio station a couple of times. I had their email and numbers...

Von took me uptown to Harlem to Digiwaxx (www.digiwaxx.com) where I met the team and interviewed Dennis White, who was filming the movie Notorious. I had no idea how huge that film was going to be. I had been invited on set, but never actually made it down to the shoot. (damn!)

I took myself off to open mic nights and became a regular at E.O.W. They showed me so much love and looked after me loads. It was here I met Marco Polo, who later hooked me up with DMC.

New York is constant - Manhatten is always crammed and everybody's a hustler. Dawn and Terrence, from House Of Talent, took me to the Ludacris album release party, which was one of the hottest concerts I've ever been to! He is amazing on stage and I was in shock when he brought out DJ Premier, T Pain, Dip Set, Jadakiss, Shawna and LL Cool J all in one show! The atmosphere was amazing, the crowd was rocking. I had never seen anything like it! The whole event was hosted by Hot 97, so DJ Envy, Angie Martinez, DJ Enuff and loads more were in attendance hyping the crowd it was ridiculous!

Being a 24 hour city, there's always a party after a party. One of the best spots I went to was a night called Open with Q Tip, Rich Medina and Vashtie. There's a whole heap of people who front in New York. This is definatley a spot for the people who love to party, who love the vibes and the music. The atmosphere is always good and you'll see b-boys and girls taking to the floor alongside party goers. I even managed to find myself a super hot dancer who literally threw me around the floor and made me look good, hahaha.

There were a few hangovers.
