ILUVLIVE 5TH BIRTHDAY WITH BASHY, KELE LE ROC, K.I.G, CRAZY COUSINZ, GRACIOUS K & MORE!!
ILUVLIVE has spent the past few years turning the first Monday of the month into the place to get your live music fix. In London and beyond the crew have gone above and beyond the call of duty to bring consistent line-ups, showcasing the best of homegrown music. Hip hop, house, R&B, grime, reggae, soul, pop and even alternative acts have helped the night become what it is today - an institution which prides itself on showcasing emerging artists first and is about to celebrate it's fifth anniversary.
To celebrate this milestone ILUVLIVE have invited back one of their most popular acts - street commentator and hip hop alchemist Bashy (pictured). Causing a stir on underground with his ‘Ur Mum' and ‘Chupa Chups' mixtapes, and of course that ‘Black Boys' track, the Londoner has twice the reason to celebrate with June 1st also marking the release of his long-awaited debut album ‘Catch Me If You Can'.
Also back by dope demand is Derby board master Baby J, most recently recognised for his remix of a certain Ms Winehouse he rocked the house to celebrate the launch of his album a few months back, and returns for the birthday celebrations with a tribe of friends including Dynamite MC, Alex Blood, Million Dan, Laurissa and Rukus. Next up ILUVLIVE welcome MOBO Award-winning ‘My Love' songstress Kele Le Roc (pictured). It may be a few years since Kele was sitting pretty in the top ten but with the time in between spent touring in musicals, nurturing creative links between the UK and Africa and still finding time to do the odd guest vocal for the likes of Basement Jaxx, fans and newcomers alike should expect something special. Also repping for the fairer sex is MPHO, the South African who has already worked with the likes of Natasha Bedingfield, Adele and Mongrel and will be showcasing her "tropical pop" sound with tracks from her album ‘Pop Art'.
Finalising the live line up are Attacca Pesante, a trio whose past has seen them produce multiple genres (house, hip hop, R&B, soul) for a range of artists (Sway, Lee Ryan, Bashy). However, it's their funky house smash ‘Make It Funky For Me' that will be familiar to anyone's whose turned on the radio over the past couple of months.
To celebrate their five years in the game, for one night only the set-up has been given a slight twist with Bashy and co hitting the stage from 8.30pm, as normal, but this will be followed by the aftershow with DJs Ras Kwame, Twin B and DJ Kayper taking you through til 2am with some very special guest PA's to keep the crowd jumping.
Two-step don and producer extraordinaire MJ Cole will be showcasing his soon to be released new single ‘Gotta Have It' featuring Digga. Shystie is back with brand new single ‘Pull It', already aired on Trevor Nelson's Radio 1 show, K.I.G will be getting everyone doing the ‘Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes' while Gracious K will be competing with the ‘Migrane Skank'. Maxwell D will be back bringing some ‘Serious' vibes, Kyla with Crazy Cousinz will be asking ‘Do You Mind' and finally, promising to be the big hit of the summer, Bring It Back will be showcasing some of the old school dancers along with debut single ‘Bring It Back'. With few live showcases open to urban music, ILUVLIVE has helped numerous performers present their artistry with a full luve band to music industry virtuosos, journos and fans alike and has provided many artists with a leg up in the notoriously fickle music industry.
