Hackney Music Cluster members Freeport Records, Point Blank, Rising Tide and Urban Development would like to thank all those who attended Industry Takeover and helped to make the music industry seminar and showcase such a huge success

The Industry Takeover took place at Stratford Circus, Saturday 31 January 2009. The buzz inside the building was phenomenal. Throughout the day hundreds of young people signed up to put their skills to test. The open mic sessions were jam packed as emcees and singers threw down for the crown, beatmakers created headphone masterpieces on the mezzanine, while artists painted on fresh canvases and aspirational vocalists were put through their paces with Shola Ama. All three seminars found panelists in top form as they shared advice, stories and inside tips about the urban music industry.

The urban cinema brought the scene to the big screen with exclusive screenings of I'm That Guy, Rotten Apples and Inferno. By the time the evening event was upon us, the main arena was crammed to capacity with young people ready to catch homegrown heavy hitters Ghetts, Faith SFX, Lady Lykes and our very own UD Vocal Collective live in action. By the time Donaeo finished rocking the headline slot the audience had partied hard and were ready to head home with good vibes and even better goodie bags.
