Urban Development has built a reputation over the years for quality music seminars. Our Industry Takeover series provide a unique pathway for the next generation of young artists, industry professionals and entrepreneurs.
INDUSTRY TAKEOVER | A BRIEF HISTORY
Since the launch event, in January 2009, Industry Takeover has built a reputation for offering professional development, entertainment, education and networking opportunities to hundreds of industry-minded youth from across the capital. Industry Takeover comprises of a monthly show from October to March which concludes in a grand finale, All Day Seminar & Showcase in April.
The series has attracted a host of respected industry speakers such as Hattie Collins (The Guardian, RWD), Ghetts (artist), Justin Stennett (Dubplate Drama), Ras Kwame (1xtra) and Ben Scarr (Island Records), Alex Boateng (Island Records), Bless Beats (producer), Austin Daboh (BBC 1Xtra), Jodie McIntyre (The Independent), Nick Matthews (Coda Agency), Sarah Young (MTV) and Logan Sama (Kiss FM).
At the annual All-Dayer, activities on the day include workshops, masterclasses, workshops, market stalls, film presentations, showcases and open mic sessions and artist showcases.
