Comedians KG & Marston got Industry Takeover Part 3: The Launch off to a bang on Thursday 7th October alongside our powerhouse line up of panelists Corey Johnson, Funk Butcher, Marvin Harrison, Louise Pierre and Rachael Bee, who set things straight about how to create the hottest music event. Also in the mix for the showcase were performers MC Versatile, Tenny Ten, A.L., Soneni and Mr Midas.

Industry Takeover Seminar & Showcase is back to empower the next generation of emcees, singers, DJs and young music industry professionals. Urban Development, in association with Rich Mix, will be ‘taking over’ the multi-media arts complex in Shoreditch, East London. Now in its third year, Industry Takeover will feature performances from the top names in the urban music, upfront debate, and open mic sessions.

I arrived at ILUVLIVE’s fresh venue, Queen of Hoxton, to the sounds of DJ N-Sway, who was setting the mood for the night. After a short set, host Lil Man took to the stage and engaged the audience with his quick wit and comical punch lines, in preparation for the opening act.

Tenny Ten is no newcomer to the UK music scene. His first independently released mix-tape ‘Ghetto Brick Road’ - a collection of 30 snappy, sharp freestyles - earned rave reviews from Hip Hop Connection, who hailed him as “one of the best British MCs to date”. With a smooth tongue, stylish swagger and knack for an ear-catching hook, his appeal is wide ranging and undeniable. Supporters include Radio 1/1 Xtra’s Tim Westwood, Ras Kwame and Twin B.

So far 2010 has been a big year for Wolverhampton’s noted lyricist Tenny Ten. Fresh from supporting Chipmunk on The Sun Bizarre’s Braap Pack as well as Mr Hudson on his recent ‘Straight No Chaser’ nationwide tour, along with fellow support artist Tinie Tempah. He is also preparing for the release of his first official single ‘Swaggnificent’ scheduled for release on June 21st.
