The launch of the BBC's new London 2012 website marks the two year countdown to the start of the 2012 games. The website which launched today will also be the new "home" for all of the BBC's London 2012 content. World Olympic Dreams also launched on the site at the same time.

The site, which will act as a one-stop shop for BBC content related to London 2012 will feature news, sport, programmes from the BBC Archive and more. Information on how to volunteer in 2012 and buy tickets for the games is also available on the site.

In order to mark the coming of the Olympics to London in 2012, The National Portrait Gallery in conjunction with BT are hosting the Road to 2010 Project.

The project celebrates those who are collectively making the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games happen. The Journey to 2012 will berecorded by 100 commissioned portraits, interviews, East London perspectives and national responses.
