I went to Junior Reid's listening party at Runway Lounge in the Flat Iron district of NYC. With obscene chandeliers, and a long luxurious bar I was interested to see how the night would progress. I was supposed to get an interview with Junior that evening, but it got hectic in V.I.P. and it seemed like half the press in New York had turned up to get a piece, so I had to wait...

If you go to New York, you have to go to S.O.B's - short for 'Son's Of Brasil'. I don't think I've ever had a bad night there. There are always album release parties, Hot 97 parties and some of the best artists in the city regularly perform there. Amazingly it's a real intimate space, nothing stush, just great music.
