We produce a regular programme of showcases, festivals and live events that aim to help develop a vibrant UK music scene and ensure that fans of urban music have access to the best and most diverse live entertainment.

Re:Definition aims to tell the tale of an area that lies at the crossroads where old values meet new ideals. A genre-blurring live concept album which brings together some of the biggest names in urban music as part of our contribution to the annual CREATE Festival. Put simply, our mission is to ‘refix, remix and refresh’ urban music.

In July 2011, the show was headlined by chart-topping rapper, Kano with the night weaving together live band performance and a musical adventure that encompassed love, conflict, tradition and aspirations in east London by using lyrical content from some of Urban Development’s loyal supporters Ghetts, RoxXxan, Donae'o, Jay Norton, Selah, Scrufizzer, MPHO, Talay RileyLovelle, Mikill Pane, Lady Chann and Abel Miller. Each artist’s tracks and lyrics formed the story of RE:Definition.

RoxXxan

"it's great to be able to celebrate east end music and culture which is where it all began for me. Anyone who's been to an Urban Development night will know Re:Definition is one not to miss." - Kano

“Re:Definition should be welcomed by audiences throughout the country (a tour would fit this brilliantly) and would give the general public an overdue chance to experience London urban music.” - MTV

“I've known about Urban Development for 10 years now and I love the support they give to the industry and up and coming artists as well as established. Re:Definition is a platform for sharing stories in a musical form.” - Matthew 'Excalibah' Xia
