INDUSTRY TAKEOVER: TOP SEMINAR & SHOWCASE SERIES IS BACK

Industry Takeover offers edutainment and networking opportunities to industry-minded youth from across the capital.

Our launch event on January 31st 2009 attracted hundreds of young people interested in exploring careers in the urban music industry. The all day event featured a host of respected industry speakers, such as Hattie Collins (The Guardian, RWD), Ghetts (artist), Justin Stennett (Dubplate Drama), Ras Kwame (1xtra) and Ben Scarr (Island Records), as well as a music market, podcast and filming opportunities, open mic sessions, urban cinema and vocal workshops with Shola Ama. Industry Takeover concluded with an artist showcase featuring performances from Ghetts, Donaeo, Crazy Cousinz, Faith SFX, Lady Lykez, UD Vocal Collective and surprise guests.  

Due to popular demand Industry Takeover is back with a series of events designed to empower the next generation of music industry leaders.

Knowledge is power. These sessions are designed by our youth events team to arm you with the essential industry information to take your business to the next level. Come and pick the brains of our music industry guests, seek advice, network and build your profile. The open mic section provides artists with a chance to show and prove the skills. The overall winner on the night will join the line up for the next Industry Takeover Showcase.

Witness the finest homegrown talent live on stage with a full band. This event is organised and ran entirely by young promoters and event managers, so expect nothing but the best music from the cutting edge. Guest headliners will set the standard as open mic winners and emerging artists take to the stage. The streets will be watching… and the industry will most definitely be paying close attention.
