ABOUT INDUSTRY TAKEOVER
Industry Takeover Seminar & Showcase is back to empower the next
generation of emcees, singers, DJs and young music industry
professionals. Urban Development, in association with Rich Mix, will be
‘taking over’ the multi-media arts complex in Shoreditch, East London.
Now in its third year, Industry Takeover will feature performances from
the top names in the urban music, upfront debate, and open mic sessions.

WHO'S TAKING OVER THE PANEL?
BLESS BEATS
Best known for creating Wiley’s 2008 smash ‘Wearing My Rolex’, which debuted at number 2 in the charts, selling over 300,000 copies and Skepta’s summer anthem, ‘Rolex Sweep’, which was covered by Coldplay at a London gig, Bless Beats quickly secured his place as a one of the scene's top producers. A recent publishing deal with Sony has seen him take on writing sessions with the likes of Paul Tucker (Lighthouse Family), X Factor contestants Mz Frank and Dylan Burns (Bodyrockers), while he continues to work on new material for Ironik, Tinie Tempah and Wiley's A List collective.

LOGAN SAMA
Essex born DJ, Logan Sama emerged from the ranks at popular pirate station Rinse FM in 2005, to become the first grime DJ to secure a slot on mainstream radio, with his Kiss FM show. Logan's close affiliations to Roll Deep and Boy Better Know (BBK) has meant that he has always been at the forefront of grime. Well known for his classic war dubs mixtape, 'The War Report' and his ability to break new grime acts on such a high profile platform, Logan has earned himself the reputation as the 'gatekeeper'. To date, he has championed the likes of OGz, Tempa T, The Movement, Chipmunk and BBK.

WONDER
In 2001, Wonder picked up some decks at a DJ friend’s house and nine hours later, his DJ career began. A founding member of Roll Deep, Wonder has collaborated with the likes of Wiley and Danny Weed. In 2003, he landed himself a Rinse FM slot alongside a young Dizzee Rascal but soon decided to pursue a solo career. He began working with Geenus and the Static Media Camp with his first release selling over 1000 units, but it wasn’t until 'What' in 2004 (which sold over 3,500 copies) that Wonder really established himself as a successful producer. Soonafter, he was picked by the now Mercury Award winning Dizzee Rascal as his tour DJ supporting The Streets in 2005 and Dizzee’s 2005 Showtime tour. Wonder still DJs on Rinse Fm, and has worked with some of the biggest UK artists such as Kano, Sway, Lethal B and Mr Hudson.

GOLDIELOCKS
At only 25 singer, producer, DJ and label owner Goldielocks is not one to be put in a box. With a solid background in music production she is as accomplished on the beats as she is at singing and DJing. Her sound is a heady mix of Dubstep, Funky and Future Garage, a true eclectic marriage of underground sounds and influences; and her music has been used by Nike, Marc Jacob and featured on the Adulthood soundtrack. In 2007, she started the hugely popular night ‘Hardknock Wife’ which ran for two years and in 2010 she set up her own record label ‘Gut Instinct’. When she’s not working on her own material, she’s producing for the likes of G Frsh, Baby Blue, Tinchy Stryder and Example, or DJing all over Europe from Sonar and Outlook festivals to private parties for the likes of Vice magazine.

DJ DARKSIDE
DJ Darkside aka Lee Taylor, is the owner of GetDarker & GetDarkerTV. After completing 5 years on Rinse FM he recently released three compilation albums in the UK charts, the first being the first ever TV advertised Dubstep album. Currently, Darkside is working on projects with Wiley, Tinchy Stryder, Skream, Benga, Little Dee, P Money, Blacks, Hatcha, Caspa and Rusko to name a few. Darkside now presents his own GetDarkerTV show which receives over 4,500 viewers per week.

WHO'S ON THE MAIN STAGE?
P MONEY
South London emcee and one third of the OGz crew, P Money is currently making waves in the grime scene. Gaining widespread attention on various studio sets like 'Hazardous Sessions' and with his 'What Did He Say' release, P Money quickly built a name for himself. In late 2008, he became involved in some high-profile 'beef' with east London emcee, Ghetts which infamously continued into 2010. His recent hits, 'Slang Like This' and 'Ho Riddim' have notched up thousands of views on the internet solidifying his spot as one of the hottest names in grime. To date he has worked with top producers such as Wiley, Rude Kid, Joker, Skepta, Dot Rotten and Teddy.

FUMIN
Best known as a founding member of Fire Camp and his appearance on Lethal B "Forward Riddim" (Pow), Fumin's legendary appearances and freestyles on with the likes of Wiley, Dizzee Rascal and Tinchy Stryder led to his notoriety as a fierce spitter gaining the respect of his peers.

SELAH
From singing in her room in her humble Brixton beginnings, Selah has come far to perform on the same stage as some of the UK's greatest talents. In 2006 she was handpicked by lemar to perform alongside him at the BBC Maida Vale Studiod for 1Xtra and has worked with Akala on his debut album, supporting the likes of Missy Elliot and also lending her vocals to Ms Dynamite 2006 album. Recently, Selah released ‘Woman’s World’ with Sadie Amam and Mz Bratt and has been in the studio cutting records with producers such as Davinche, Chris Braide, Fraser T Smith, Steve Chrisanthou, Pete Versette, Myx Quest to name a few for her upcoming album.

FATIMA
Since moving from Stockholm to London in 2006, Fatima has become a firm fixture within the sets of 1Xtra’s Benji B and Radio 1′s Gilles Peterson and after joining the Eglo records camp in 2009 she can be heard regularly on Alexander Nut's Rinse FM show. From Dubstep to Soul, Jazz to Orchestral, this versatile singer is set for big things. Having already dropped her golden vocals on tracks by Dam Funk, SA-RA's Shafiq Husayn, and Eglo cohorts Floating Points and Funkineven, on releases such as the 'Mindtravellin' EP, and her latest EP with Floating Points due for release early 2011, Fatima is on one long psychedelic musical journey.

EMPRESS
Formed in 2009, Empress consist of Janee (Vocalist), Charlie Westropp (Guitar), Ben Athey (Drums), Owen Taylor (Guitar) and John Stevens (Bass) together these guys have worked with, Rob Davis, co-writer of Kylie's 'can't get you out of my head', Roll Deep, Wiley, DJ Ironik, Rude Nation, Aggro Santos, Dionne Bromfield and have even recorded at Olympic Studios where the Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin all "cut" tracks. Described by The Guardian as having “a reputation for stage presence, charisma and tight playing that produces epic live performances” Empress do not disappoint.
