ABOUT INDUSTRY TAKEOVER
Industry Takeover Seminar & Showcase is back to empower the next generation of emcees, singers, DJs and young music industry professionals. Urban Development, in association with Rich Mix, will be ‘taking over’ the multi-media arts complex in Shoreditch, East London. Now in its third year, Industry Takeover will feature performances from the top names in the urban music, upfront debate, and open mic sessions.

WHO'S TAKING OVER THE PANEL?

Jak FrshJAK FRSH

With strong film and TV links within his family, Jak initially entered the visual world shooting stills on 35mm film, quickly becoming besotted and began to experiment with film. He later went on to intern at MTV and was soon given the task of directing and producing the monthly music show, ‘From The Endz’ for MTV Base. Having grown up in South London with other members of FrSH Entertainment, it was natural that Jak would shoot the recording artists’ videos, and he debuted with the first video for G FrSH in 2004. Since then he has gone on to direct over 25 videos, working closely with chart-topping artists such as Tinchy Stryder, Tinie Tempah and Wiley.

A pioneer for independent artists, John Hendrickse has and continues to raise the profile of up and coming and existing talent. His love for the creative freedom of the mixtape culture and keen interest in urban music around the world makes him a perfect ambassador for the Official Mixtape Awards. His knowledge and experience in the broadcast and digital media circuit has given him the platform to push the brand as he has worked and produced projects for world famous brands and homegrown artists including Marvell, Obenewa, Kele Le Roc, Mumzy Stranger, USG (K Koke), Bloodline (Big H) and Stayfresh (S-X).

CodaNICK MATTHEWS

Starting life as a jobbing DJ, Nick Matthews ended up establishing his own boutique booking agency called Best Kept Secret in 2001. Representing a wealth of hip hop artists from the U.S as well electronica and urban talent in UK, he has been responsible for successfully developing and re-inventing countless acts both domestically and internationally. In 2008, Nick merged in with the much larger Coda Music Agency and now represents artists such as Chipmunk, Devlin, Ghetts, Sway, Angel and Emeli Sande amongst many others.

Founder of popular urban fashion brand, Avit Clothing, Hannah set up the line in 2006. The clothes are inspired by UK talent and the label works with DJs, MCs, producers, singers, dancers, magicians, graffiti artists, promoters and charities that represent a positive lifestyle. Currently collaborating with the some of the UK's finest, Roses' highly anticipated forthcoming project and will be due for release later this year.

Jeeday JawzJEEDAY JAWZ

North London, emcee Jeeday Jawz discovered his passion for music at an early age and started writing to hip hop aged 13,  finding inspiration in figures like P Diddy, Eminem and Busta Rhymes. As a member of grime collective, Menace 2 Society Jeeday built up his reputation hosting numerous raves and shows on radio stations such as Heat and Mystic FM. However, after parting ways with the crew he embarked on a solo career and is best known for his tracks ‘Getting That Paper’ and ‘One’ featuring Random Impulse and Black The Ripper. To date he has worked with some of the hottest names in the urban scene including Sway, Bigz, Rude Kid, Teror Danjah, Double S, Fumin, Semothy Jones, Goldielocks, Maverick Sabre and more. Currently back from hiatus after honing his skills in animation at university, he is back with his new single, ‘G.D.P’ from his forthcoming ‘Freestyle Friday’ EP.

Dionne Reid

DIONNE REID

Dionne Reid is a soulful singer/songwriter with a colourful twist and her style is best described as a fusion of soul, indie and pop. Her soothing vocals have resulted in her becoming a much-loved and respected artist in the showcasing circle, and led her to land a feature on a track with MOBO award winning rapper, Sway. Dionne also fronts the monthly showcase ‘Style & Substance’ organised by Sistova Productions, which provides a platform for aspiring female artists in aid a female charities. Dionne is defiantly bringing realness and originality back to music and with her refreshing vocals combined with her vibrant energy - Dionne Reid is guaranteed to leave a lasting impression.

Performer, poet, blogger and entertainer, G.R.E.E.D.S prides himself on his love for music and the therapeutic space that writing and performing poetry provides. His recent 18 track release 'Volume in Silence' has been causing a stir on the live circuit. You can also often find this multi-talented young man hosting the popular charitable showcase by Sistova Productions as well as putting his name to other good causes.

Metamore AKA The Voice of the Roads is a force of nature.
