BURSARY: APPLY NOW FOR URBAN MUSIC BURSARY 2009
Urban Development has played an essential role in helping the winners of the 2008 Urban Music Bursary achieve their true potential. Over the past year we've seen thecocknbullkid conquer Jools Holland, Lady Jay take on New York (and win) and Andreya Triana take her unique vocal alchemy into the studio. Now, it's time to search for some fresh talent for 2009. For the first time the Bursary is open to everyone, rather than selection by nomination. Applicants could be urban musicians, MC's, DJ's, rappers, beat boxers, producers, promoters, label bosses, agents, journalists, managers, writers or any combination!
Who is it for?
The best aspiring urban music artists, musicians, producers, promoters, label bosses, agents, journalists, managers and any combination of these aged 18 - 30. This is a scheme for talented self starters with an idea and the motivation to make it happen.
You need to be mature, realistic, positive and grounded in hard work. You need to have been working in music, alone or with others, for at least a year. You may be working alone or you may already have set up a company.
The Bursary's job is to help you early in your career with some working capital, a business mentor, advice, contacts and training (if you need it).
How much can I apply for?

How many people will get grants?
It depends how many good applications we get and how much people apply for. The Bursay anticipate around 15 grants.
