Following last year’s first ever BBC Radio 1Xtra Soundclash, the station has announced that the event is back for a second year, this time coming live from the Troxy, London on Saturday 18th June 2011.

The BBC Radio 1Xtra Summer Soundclash will bring DJs from 1Xtra, BBC Radio 1 and special guests together into the ultimate musical battle to be crowned ‘Soundclash Champion’.

Tickets to the event, which is to be hosted by 1Xtra’s MistaJam and Twin B, are free. Ticket registration opened during Twin B's show this morning, and closes in MistaJam’s show on Tuesday 7th June (9pm). For further details go to www.bbc.co.uk/1xtra

To start the evening there will be an Angry Birdz warm-up soundclash (7pm-9pm), hosted by Trevor Nelson, with 1Xtra DJ’s Sarah Jane Crawford and Gemma Cairney going head to head in a talent battle.

The main Soundclash teams are as follows:-

DJ Target, Reggie Yates, CJ Beatz

Ace and Vis, Nihal, DJ Cameo

Charlie Sloth, Vernon Kay, DJ Bailey

Each team will also have some very special guest performances to help them.

There will be PA’s from Chipmunk, Ms Dynamite, NY, P Money, Mz Bratt and Maverick Sabre.

Audience response will determine who triumphs in each round with Radio 1 and 1Xtra listeners deciding who gets eliminated, so make sure you're there to make your decision!
