In the run up to Re:Definition on 7th July (which is all about celebrating east London), we'll be profiling some top brands and organisations that have the East End at their core. So pay close attention...
Who are they?
Urban Development’s Vocal Collective [UDVC]
What they do?
Urban Development’s Vocal Collective (more commonly know as the UDVC) is a vocal group with a difference. Born from the minds of Shola Ama, Sherelle ‘ShezAr’ & Timothy ‘Labrinth’ McKenzie and UD veteran Natalie Maddix, the UDVC are unaffected by record label agendas and industry hype. The UD Vocal Collective is all about honing song-writing skills, developing industry knowledge and creating shows that raise the bar for live performance.
Services they provide?
Over the last two years the collective has performed alongside Chipmunk, Wretch32, FDM3, Ny and Young Nate; headlined The Remix Choir; provided vocals for Bashy’s ‘Black Boys’ and rocked festivals from Rise to The Mayor’s Show in Newham. They have also provided backing vocals for artists such as Shola Ama, Omar and Labrinth
Why look out for them?
Inspired by Urban Development’s highly respected vocal training courses, the tutors are dedicated to developing the skills needed to succeed in the competitive music industry. Tutors are also committed to providing support and guidance for the next generation of young vocal talent in the UK.
RE:DEFINITION, of course! Also, look out for them at London’s Lovebox Festival on July 15.
Where to find them?
