LIVE REVIEW: Cosy Show - One Year Anniversary
The Cosy Show is an all-round entertainment show with live music, comedy and Krispy Kreme's! On Tuesday 7th June 2011 they celebrated their first birthday with a very special Cosy show, Dorsa Nam went down to Nineteen Twenty in Farringdon to wish them a happy birthday and to see what all the hype was about.

I walked into the venue to a familiar voice entertaining the crowd of people, it was Kat B, the man that I admittingly parred at the last event I reviewed. Awkward. He was questioning late-comers as to why they were late and made them apologise to the Cosy show. Embarrassing times for them.
In-between each act Kat made jokes about the power women have over men and how hard it is to tell the difference between real hair and weave nowadays - his top tip was to set the hair on fire, as plastic burns faster. I laughed hard, Kat B won me over.
Shaun Williams was the first performer and he sang a cover of Jessie J's Do It Like A Dude and smashed it, as well as two of his own tracks. Axel the Entertainer, a well known comedian who has been touring with Kat B recently made his way onto the stage as Kat gyrated off to bashment. Axel told us about how hard he reps ASDA, as if it was a gang. He had the audience in tears as he told us about chatting up a female in a bar, "I saw a Sainsbury's receipt drop out her bag, so I rushed her, I stay loyal to my crew".

A 'Mock of the Week' style game show commenced with singers Lovelle Hill, Teni Soloman and comedian Aurie Styla versus singer Theo Llewellyn and the very hilarious Katerina Vrana and Axel the Entertainer. They made shocking jokes on things you wouldn't hear on a children's programme, in a love song or at a funeral. The next comedian was Prince Abdi who spoke about having a 'sexy big forehead' and if anyone was to disagree, straight headbutt. He also impersonated his favourite parts from Nollywood flims that had the audience banging on the walls from laughing so hard. Before heading off stage he told a tourist in the audience that 'Brixton was nice' and she should visit. Major lol's.
Leanne Robinson and Theo Llewellyn were the last two to perform before the headlining act Slim. They sang a song they performed at the first show about Cosy itself. As well as singing their own songs, Leanne had an amazing voice and Theo sang about a broke man who had 'nasty stank breathe'. I'd like that on my iTunes, please.
Headlining was Slim who had the audience on the floor when talking about women's obsession with candles and all things unnecessary, Slim believes it's all voodoo. Insects in Jamaica being more hench compared to those in England, "where are we Jamaica or Jurassic Park?" and his traumatic childhood of playing kiss chase with a 'big girl'.

The night ended perfectly, and grabbing a glimpse of a specially made Cosy cake, it was clear that this monthly event isn't just that, it meant much more to those who organised it and Cosy created a community as well as just a comedy night.
