Dropping out of college and joining a reggae band at just 17, teen Tanya knew from an early age that singing was the career she wanted to pursue. Years later, armed with just a suitcase and a bag of ambition the now 25-year old Bristolian moved to London with the intention of staying for a few weeks. Three years later, the soulful singer’s not only signed a record deal with major label Sony Music, but has a number two charting single with label-mate Loick Essien under her belt. You might even recognise Lacey’s vocals from her feature on Tinchy Stryder’s banger  ‘Spotlight’. 

Lacey’s latest single, ‘Letter To My Ex’, has been shown a massive amount of love on MTV Base, The Box, Flava, Kiss TV, Massive R&B and channel AKA to name a few as well as radio play from DJs across the board.

Currently working on her new album due to drop mid 2012, on which Labrinth, DJ Campa and more are said to feature, you can also see her in the new issue of i-D Magazine as one of their top female tips.

Real to her music, soulful and bright, Tanya is a gifted singer/songwriter who can also spray bars. All we want to know now is what can’t she do.
