Twenty-five year old, South London native Russo’s rise to stardom is already off to a remarkable start. Having secured support slots for Professor Green and Example in 2011, she has spent the majority of the last year, since signing to Polydor, in the studio crafting & perfecting her sound with producers Yo Video. In anticipation for this, she released her first mixtape ’Lights Are Off’, which includes the brash & bold ‘Laters I’m Off’. On ‘Laters…’, Russo makes a statement to the world as she proclaims she’s tired of the monotony of life. In a way, it details her own life, as only a few months ago this talented young lady was waiting tables in a Brixton café with fellow waitresses/ singstresses Rumer and Ayah Marar. There must be something in the water.

Scrufizzer, Dot Rotten and Sincere all make appearances on the ‘Lights Are Off’ mixtape, which is a melting pot of sounds and ideas to give a taste of what’s to come from Russo. Download for free here:
