At the forefront of the grime scene, Birmingham-based producer Preditah has managed to establish his name in the bass-dominated world over the past year. Describing himself more as a musician than just a beat-maker, he grew up in church surrounded by gospel music but it was when his grandmother gave him a guitar for his birthday that he realised production was his vocation.

He caught the ears of many within the grime scene (and also across the dance community) at the beginning of 2011 with his haunting production and the recurring samples ‘PRE-DI-TAH’ and ‘woah’ as his signature sound. Endorsed by Boy Better Know JME, the Birmingham talent broke into the grime scene with his ‘Solitaire’ EP, which reached the top five on the iTunes electronic chart, establishing his name further with his following release ‘Eightsome’ EP. With his status rapidly growing across the UK, Preditah has already worked with the grime elite including Roll Deep (Manga – No MC), Boy Better Know (Tropical 2), Eski boy Wiley and his music was highly featured in ‘Lord Of The Mics 3’ DVD.  Apart from his collaborations with the 140bpm veterans, it’s his production on his younger brother C4’s banger ‘Off Track’ that has excited most of the bass lovers with that catchy yet chilled sound.

When asked about his future, the man behind the infectious ‘Gargoyle’ instrumental promises that grime is not his only option and a willingness to experiment with new genres as a music composer officially make him one to watch for 2012.
