Only 17 years old, Lil Simz is one of the most promising female rappers to come out of London with her captivating wordplay and versatile flow. Holding a mic since the age of eight, the young talent is not a newbie to the game; while her friends were playing with Brattz dolls, she was writing lyrics in her bedroom.
Co-signed by 1Xtra DJ Semtex, Lil Simz has already performed in front of big crowds at Lovebox Festival, Industry Takeover, Somerset House and Rising Tide/Spotlight (O2) gaining the support of a varied audience. Hailing from Highbury, north London, Simz has been perfecting her craft over the years and she has recently released a series of Drake’s covers on her YouTube channel, showcasing her ability to come up with original lyrics. Following the buzz of her first official video ‘Fall To The Floor’, the artist has proved that, despite her young age, she has got the formula to deliver potential hits.
If it wasn’t enough, Lil Simz also had a leading role (Vicky) in BBC/CBBC series ‘Spirit Warriors’ in 2010, winning the hearts of many kids and the successful TV series was nominated for three BAFTA Children’s Awards.
Having shared the same stage as Ms Dynamite, Tinie Tempah, Estelle, Faith SFX, Sway, N-Dubz, Ghetts and more established UK artists, Lil Simz is planning to do the damn thing in 2012 and she is currently working on her forthcoming EP. Expect nothing but bangers from this fly teenager!
