Etta Bond: Ones To Watch 2012 In Association With PUMA

Urban Development in association with Puma present One's To Watch 2012. Having spent many an hour sifting through demo's, label recommendations and our social networking tip offs, we hereby declare these are the acts that will be popping off this year. Look, listen and learn...

Don’t be fazed by the shaved head on Etta bond because what comes out of her mouth when she sings can only be described as the sound of effortless soul.   The first signing to Labrinth’s record label, Odd Child, she has truly come into her own, making her mark on tracks like rapper Wretch 32’s ‘Forgiveness’. As of yet no one has been able to pin point Etta’s style of music as she draws on dubstep, dance, R&B, soul, electro… the list goes on. But whatever Etta Bond comes out with will be an interesting surprise.

Etta started making music aged 14 when she wrote and recorded her first song. After years of working the independent route, rumor has it that Miss Bond fell in love with a song she had heard and made it her mission to meet up with the producer. The producer (who just happened to be our very own Labrinth) embraced her with open arms (cough vocals) and well the magic just happened from there.

Moving to the present, Etta currently only has three songs on her Soundcloud but that’s enough to show the variety of talent she holds: ‘Ask Me To Stay’ is really bouncy and has a wicked dub drop. ‘Come Over’ is a little more for the soul heads as its not as energetic but still exciting in its own right. What really signals Etta as one to watch for us it the pleasure you take when watching her sing. Full of passion and looking like she has a deep connection to every song she performs, well that’s a talent in it’s own right.
