BRAND PROFILE: We Plug G.O.O.D Music
With a blog bursting with fresh artists and quality music, We Plug GOOD Music is the online platform you want to check out if you’re on the look out for emerging artists. With music showcases in London and Lagos, WPGM are currently expanding their business and we wanted to find out a bit more about it and their work.

Who are We Plug GOOD Music?
We are a world music blog aimed at showcasing and highlighting the very best in new and emerging music - across all genres - from all around the world. In our efforts to continually highlight and showcasing the best new and emerging music, we also organize live music showcases in London (One Mic UK) and Lagos (One Mic Nigeria) to further promote emerging music.
What services do We Plug GOOD Music provide?
Primarily, our website and blog provides news, features and reviews on the best new and emerging music from around the world. We keep our readers in the loop on what to be listening to and who’s worth looking out for, offering an online platform for those artists in the meantime.
We also organize and host live music showcases called One Mic for up and coming artists to showcase their music and art in front of discerning and appreciative audiences - so far in London and in Lagos, Nigeria.
In 2012, we're further branching out into digital PR/Press services for promising artists who may not be able to afford huge major label PR campaigns but who deserve the wide coverage that digital PR brings.
What and who do We Plug GOOD Music represent?
GOOD brand new music and the artists that provide it alongside the discerning listeners who appreciate it.
Current project?
Our first live music showcase of 2012 - One Mic... Introducing 2012 - is happening in London on January 22 (http://bit.ly/onemicintroducing). We've got Marsha Ambrosius' younger brother Marvin Ambrosius performing along with a host of other upcoming UK acts.

Experience you would need to work somewhere like We Plug GOOD Music?
Typically a few months of published professional writing experience but we're very flexible at WPGM. As long as you exhibit a passion and flair for music writing, we will consider you. The most important criteria however is how reliable and committed you are. The latter also goes for working in event management on our live music showcases.
Qualifications you would need to work somewhere like We Plug GOOD Music?
None necessarily. You just need to be able to write a compelling and authoritative 600-word article anywhere and anytime [LOL]
How an intern can apply/get involved in We Plug GOOD Music.
Simply email info@wepluggoodmusic.com and we'll take it from there.
Advice you would give to an intern who wants to do your job?
WRITE - for yourself and others! ASK - don't be afraid to email the editor of your favorite music blog, website or publication to pitch an article idea or a column idea or just even to ask to help transcribe interviews. ADD VALUE - Any way you feel you can add value to them and their publication, pitch it to them and do it when given the chance! BE PERSISTENT - if they don't need a music writer now, they will need one eventually.
However if you want to create your own music blog/website and have a strong online presence among the million of music sites out there then CONTENT is KING. The only thing that will make you different from the sea of music blogs posting the same K Koke or Emeli Sande record is your content.
